About

Hi, I’m Jillian—a Registered Nurse, Midwife, IBCLC, Matrescence Coach, and my favourite role, a Mum. I’m also the face behind The Sensitive Midwife.

I know firsthand that parenting education and support often leaves something important behind. For those who are neurodivergent, highly sensitive, or quietly wondering “why does this feel so hard?”, standard models of perinatal care can feel anything but affirming, supportive, or tailored to real nervous system needs.

I’ve long dreamed of an accessible, welcoming space where parents can dive deeper into learning about their amazing bodies, brains, hearts, and hormones during this transformational time—while also forming meaningful connections with peers to nurture and support them through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.

My approach blends clinical expertise with research, lived experience, and neurodiversity-affirming principles, and is shaped by the wisdom of matrescence—offering perinatal education and support that’s as individual as you are.

And if you’re wondering why “The Sensitive Midwife”...

Well, for many years, I felt like my sensitivity was a flaw—something I needed to shut down and hide. But over time, I’ve come to realise that when I allow my sensitivity to lead, it becomes my greatest strength. It shapes how I listen, how I connect, and how I care for families—in ways that feel thoughtful, individualised, and deeply human.
So I’m learning to drop the mask and instead I'm embracing it—and maybe, if you're quietly holding the same feelings, you’ll feel seen here too.
